BRADFORD is John Saxon Professor of Ancient History at the University of Oklahoma. He earned his Ph.D. in classical languages and literatures from the University of Chicago. He served with 1/27th Infantry (Wolfhounds) of the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam, September 1968 to August 1969. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Air Medal, and Purple Heart. He is the author of Philip II of Macedon: A Life from the Ancient Sources (Praeger, 1992).
