Nicola Moon was born in Bristol, but lived for most of her childhood in Yorkshire. She loved reading and bedtime stories. After school she went to Bristol University and gained a BSc in microbiology. She has worked as a laboratory research assistant and a secondary school science teacher. Nicola's first picture book was published in 1994 and to date she has had over a dozen titles published, including SOMETHING SPECIAL and MY MOST FAVOURITE THING and for beginner readers, JJ RABBIT AND THE MONSTER. Alex Ayliffe is a bestselling, award-winning writer and artist. Her distinctive papercut illustrations are bright and bold with lots of child appeal.
