In this book, author Tristan Jones describes his voyage from Istanbul to Phuket, Thailand, which was begun in July 1985. The amputation of his leg two years earlier, far from putting an end to his sea-going life, made Jones even more determined to conquer his handicap and show others it could be done. On his voyage east from the Bosphorus he was accompanied by a crew of two able-bodied young men, German Thomas and Swedish Svante.
