John Richardson is a contributo to the New York Review of Books and Vanity Fair. The first of his two volumes of A Life of Picasso won the Whitbread Book of the Year Award in 1991. He has been elected to the British Academy and was Slade Professor of Art at Oxford for 1995-1996. He lives in New York and Connecticut.
