The Soul Beneath The Skin by David Nimmons
In this clear-eyed look at the hitherto unnoticed ethical patterns of gay male lives, Nimmons looks at seven types of behaviour, including non-violent public culture, enormous rates of altruism, high levels of volunteerism, diffuse and communal intimacies, elaborate forms of erotic celebration, new forms of friendship with women, and the pursuit of diverse forms of sexual play. Arguing that these innovations bear striking similarities to the teachings of many traditional religions, Nimmons offers a profoundly optimistic vision of revolutionary change occurring within our midst.
