Without assuming specific knowledge of PDEs, the text includes many challenging problems in stochastic analysis and treats stochastic PDEs in a practical way. The author first brings the subject back to its root in classical concrete problems. He then discusses a unified theory of stochastic evolution equations and describes a few applied problems, including the random vibration of a nonlinear elastic beam and invariant measures for stochastic Navier-Stokes equations. The book concludes by pointing out the connection of stochastic PDEs to infinite-dimensional stochastic analysis.

By thoroughly covering the concepts and applications of stochastic PDEs at an introductory level, this text provides a guide to current research topics and lays the groundwork for further study.

LEE BRIAN SCHRAGER is the founder and director of the South Beach and New York City Wine & Food Festivals on the Food Network and Cooking Channel. He is also the author of Fried and True and The Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival Cookbook, as well as the vice president of corporate communications and national events at Southern Wine & Spirits of America. Lee, a Culinary Institute of America alumnus, has appeared on Today and Rachael Ray, and is a member of the Food Bank of New York City's board of directors. He splits his time between Miami and New York City. ADEENA SUSSMAN is a cooking expert and cookbook author.

In addition to this book, she co-wrote Fried and True with Lee Schrager and is the coauthor of a number of other recipes. Food & Wine, The Wall Street Journal, Martha Stewart Living, Every Day with Rachael Ray, Epicurious, and Food Republic have all featured her work.
