She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines. Miss Gutierrez had been a schoolteacher for more than thirty-three years in the Philippines and in New York City, USA. She had been a speaker and facilitator of teachers in workshops, institutes, and seminars. Miss Juanita de Guzman Gutierrez had been awarded several grants and Outstanding Teaching Performance Ratings;consecutively. Miss Gutierrez, also had been the youngest president of the teachers association in her hometown. Miss Gutierrez had entered the cloistered and contemplative monastery to discern her call to the religious life after retiring early. Sister Juanita stayed in the monastery in Virginia, USA for three years and three months. GOD was not calling her to become a nun. She had to come out of the prayer-enclosure to go home and take care of her beloved mother as her chief primary caregiver for eight months. Her beloved mother was taken to Heaven by PRIME CREATOR after this time.
