Specialist Training in Cardiology by Henry Purcell
Written for doctors starting their career in cardiology (or in general internal medicine), this book presents an account of the subject focusing on diagnostic techniques, treatment and management. It uses radiographs, drawings, lists and tables, with an aim to provide a 'bridge' between introductory undergraduate texts and major reference works.
Henry Purcell MB, PhD, is Senior Fellow in Cardiology at The Royal Brompton Hospital in London. He lectures widely and has published many peer-reviewed research papers and abstracts. He was a member of the British Cardiac Society Working Group producing guidelines on management of patients with acute coronary syndromes without peristent ECG ST segment elevation (2001). He is co-editor of the British Journal of Cardiology and on several editorial boards and has co-edited the text Specialist Training in Cardiology, published by Elsevier/Mosby. He is also a reviewer for many international journals in cardiovascular medicine.
