Spectrum for Violin with CD by Alexandra Wood
Spectrum for Violin is an exciting introduction to the music of today for all violinists, containing specially commissioned pieces from some of today's leading composers. Pieces range in standard from Grades 1 to 8. The book comes with a CD recording of the 16 pieces which also includes recorded accompaniments for the two works composed for violin and soundtrack. The highly successful Spectrum series was established by ABRSM and Thalia Myers in 1996 and now includes volumes for piano, cello, clarinet and string quartet.
The latest in ABRSM's much-lauded Spectrum series, this edition is an exciting collection of 16 contemporary pieces by some of today's leading composers.. all 16 are useful towards understanding and therefore improving a student's performance of contemporary classical music. Starting from the very basic, they quickly progress to beautiful pieces, worthy of inclusion in any recital. Highly recommended. * Music Teacher *
