Sport and Exercise Psychology by Aidan Moran

This textbook combines an explanation of the theoretical foundations of sport psychology, critical reviews of contemporary research and practical suggestions for relevant independent research projects.

"Very educational content presented and designed to encourage student learning and understandingMoran has a very accessible and easy to understand language. ... Many students will be attracted by both the tone and the structure." - Karin Weman-Josefsson, Halmstad University, Sweden, in idrottsforum.org (Nordic sports studies web journal)

"The main strength of this book lies in the balanced critical analysis provided by Aidan Moran. Primarily aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students, this text is an excellent example of how students should aspire to present and evaluate research. Key constructs are highlighted and explained in a straightforward manner and the contemporary examples really help to bring the subject to life." - Doug MacDonald, University of Stirling, UK, in Sport & Exercise Psychology Review

"This is an outstanding and very accessible book that presents a comprehensive roadmap of the main topics, theories and research findings in contemporary sport and exercise psychology. Aidan Moran has produced an extremely valuable book that offers important insights into, and up-to-date explanations of, key topics in this field." - Aymeric Guillot, Associate Professor, University of Lyon, France

"The second edition of Aidan Moran’s excellent text provides a broad-reaching update of the discipline, integrating new issues with the old. Researchers and students alike will appreciate, as I did, the clarity with which the author approaches the topic, examines the implications, and bridges gaps both between topics and between theory and practice. I for one will use this critical introduction when next I teach sport and exercise psychology" - Rich Masters, Professor of Human Performance, The University of Hong Kong
