Philippa Pearce (1920-2006) was a scriptwriter-producer for the BBC, a children's book editor, a lecturer and freelance writer for radio and newspapers, as well as the author of some of the best-loved children's books of the twentieth century. She won a Carnegie Medal for Tom's Midnight Garden and the Whitbread Prize for The Battle of Bubble and Squeak. Wayne Anderson is an acclaimed illustrator. His titles include the international bestseller Dragonology, as well as A Fish Wish and Moondog, both of which were longlisted for the 2006 Kate Greenaway Medal. He lives in Leicester with his family.
