Stars of Mine by Kevin Crossley-Holland
A King marries a poor girl after being told she can perform amazing feats with a spinning-wheel. But what will happen to her when he realises he's been tricked..? Stunning retelling of a traditional tale. The deal seems great. A poor woman's daughter will become Queen, but only under the condition that for one month a year, she will spin five sacks of wool a day. Will the help of a mysterious visitor enable her to spin the wool? A brilliant retelling of the traditional Rumplestiltskin tale, from a master of the genre.
