Stephenson's Rocket Manual by David Baker
Stephenson's Rocket is one of the most famous steam locomotives of all time. Designed by Robert Stephenson, with input from this father, George, Rocket set the fundamental design template for almost all the locomotives that followed it.
Richard Gibbon, now retired after working for many years for the National Railway Museum as Head of Engineering Collections, has studied Rocket and its history in greater detail than anyone else and has been involved with the operation of the two replicas.
