This anthology of his major work contains a foreword by his daughter Mary Katherine Bateson.Gregory Bateson (1904-1980), a lecturer and Kresge College fellow at the University of California, Santa Cruz, was born and educated in the United Kingdom. He spent the majority of his professional life in the United States. He wrote Naven and Mind and Nature, among other influential publications.
