Meredith Hooper has written over fifty non-fiction books for children and adults, on everything from pyramids to aeroplanes. She grew up in Australia and after graduating in history from the University of Adelaide, she came to the UK to do a post-graduate history degree at Oxford. As well as being shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal, her work has appeared on the TES Information Book and Australian Children's Book of the Year shortlists. Meredith lives in London, N2. Katharine McEwen graduated from Kingston University in 1996 and has since illustrated around forty children's books for all ages. She is the illustrator of the picture book Cows in the Kitchen, Hey, Tabby Cat! and Here Comes Tabby Cat, four Sam's Science books, the Silver Street series and the Gaskitt stories.
