Miller is an emeritus John Henry MacCracken Professor of History at Lafayette College and the author of 10 books, including Vicksburg and Masters of the Air, which is currently being adapted into a television series starring Tom Hanks. He has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, and other newspapers, and has hosted, coproduced, or acted as historical consultant for more than thirty television documentaries.
