The original pronunciation of Jekyll was Jeekul which was the pronunciation used in Stevenson's native Scotland. It is about a London lawyer named John Gabriel Utterson who investigates strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr Henry Jekyll, and the misanthropic Edward Hyde.Robert Louis Stevenson was a Scottish poet, novelist, and travel writer who lived from 1850 to 1894. Stevenson, the son of a lighthouse engineer, had a life-long lung disease that required him to frequently travel in quest of milder places.
