The Strange Woman by Stephanie Shields
The Strange Woman is a tale about passion, obsession, friendship, and the healing power of nature, played out in a place where past and present meet.
In a remote Yorkshire valley, in 1621, a baby girl is born to the poet Edward Fairfax and his wife, Dorothy. The baby dies four months later. Her death triggers shocking events that reverberate to this day.
Shields, Stephanie: - Stephanie is the undisputed princess of Victoria Park and spends her time doing good things. She writes because she can't stop thinking. Stephanie Shields grew up in a small village in Derbyshire. Her friends call her Veep. She went to a different high school to most of the other kids and was bullied for being weird. She dropped out of school to study drama and broke the news of this to her parents over the phone when they were on holiday in Germany. In her thirties she ran away to London to seek her fortune, where she started writing to try and make sense of the world. Along the way she discovered she was actually quite good at making people think (and making people laugh). You can find Stephanie on Twitter as @princessofvp but be warned, she can be quite the pedant when it comes to the comma.
