PHILIPPE LASSERRE is Emeritus Professor of Strategy and Asian Business and HELLMUT SCHUTTE is Senior Affiliate Professor of International Management and Dean of Asia Campus, both at INSEAD in Singapore. The authors have both lived and worked in Asia for several years as managers and academics. They have conducted research, acted as consultants and taught management seminars for both Asian and Western managers. Professor Lasserre has been Visiting Professor at the National University of Singapore, China, Europe Management Institute in Beijing, China, at the University of Texas, USA, and at Curtin University, Australia and CEIBS, Shanghai. Professor Schutte has been Visiting Professor at the University of Tokyo, Japan, Boston University, USA and Visiting Scholar at Harvard University, USA. Both authors have written widely on Asia, Asian business and strategy and international management.
