Stephen J. is a well-known author. Reynolds graduated with a B.A. with a B.S. from the University of Texas at El Paso and an M.S. from the University of Texas at Austin. as well as a Ph.D. a bachelor's degree in geosciences from the University of Arizona

Dr. Reynolds is a professor at Arizona State University's School of Earth and Space Exploration, where he has taught regional geology, earth resources, landscape evolution, field studies, and teaching methodologies. He oversaw the Arizona Geological Survey's geologic framework and mapping initiative, which resulted in the publication of a new Geologic Map of Arizona. He has gone throughout the country as a renowned speaker for the National Association of Geoscience Teachers, giving speeches and workshops on how to incorporate active learning and inquiry into large introductory geology classes. He frequently appears as a keynote speaker at national workshops and symposia on active learning, visualization, and teaching.

Dr. Reynolds is the best-selling author of Discovering Geology.
