Colomb was a professor of English at the University of Virginia from 1951 to 2011. Williams (1933-2008) was a professor at the University of Chicago's Department of English Language and Literature. At Boston University's College of Arts and Sciences, Joseph Bizup is an associate professor of English and the associate dean for undergraduate academic programs and policies. FitzGerald is an associate professor of English and the head of the Writing Program at Rutgers University-Camden.
