The journey to safety is dangerous for two young women without an escort of men. Threatend by the superstitious and ignorant villagers she finds help with robbers, fishermen, and Gypsies. Through it all Ruth reminds Ann who she is a Princess who will return to her thrown with the Grace of God who they trust, and her promise to her Queen Natalie will be kept no matter the cost.
