In here are projects grouped as to what part of the house they are suitable for. Make aprons, potholders, tea cozies, pillows, coasters and more for sunroom, kitchen, garden and dining room. All feature the charming and timeless Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Bill figures and require some knowledge of patchwork and appliqué techniques. Each project tells you what you need to buy, gives the finished size, and has a set of written instructions that are easy to follow for anybody who has done this sort of thing previously. There are small colored diagrams of what the appliqué blocks look like made up, as well as full-sized patterns, layouts, and lots of photographs of the finished pieces. What I liked best (apart from not having to enlarge the patterns) was the fact that they all show in dotted lines how much of a shape is behind another for exact positioning. Having to guess this always takes so much longer. As with all Annie’s Attic publications, everything has a skill level and pretty much everything in here is labeled for beginners. I would recommend this book for anybody who has done some of this type of thing before and knows the very basics, but who is not ready for some of the more advanced work featured in many patchwork books.
