Jimmy Sniffles' super powers lie in his nose. It sure would be disastrous if a super villain say, Dr Von Snotenstein took advantage of Jimmy's weakness and escaped from the dream dimension. It would be even worse if the doctor had powerful Snot-Bot machine-terrors to help him conquer the world.
Gr 2-4-Eek and Ack, twins from the Great Goo Galaxy, are out to conquer EarthAfter their annoying sister tattles on them for trying to blow it up, their dad instructs them to find a more peaceful means for taking over the planet. Eek comes up with a foolproof plan, and the twins begin to collect snottle bugs, which are to be used to cover Earth in green ooze, but that idea gets them into a huge mess. The art takes full advantage of the silly situation when the boys' creations come to life. In the second book, Jimmy Sniffles and his superpowered nose return to fight the evil Dr. Von Snotenstein. This time, however, Jimmy has a cold, and his medicine has zapped his sense of smell. This leaves the perfect opening for the evil doctor to take over the city with his awful Snot-Bots. Luckily, Jimmy comes up with a way to thwart him, and the villain is defeated-for now. The cartoons are bold and captivating, and the gross humor will surely bring in even the most reluctant of readers. * School Library Journal *
Born in 1962 in Denver, Colorado, Scott Nickel works by day at Paws, inc., Jim Davis's famous Garfield studio, and he freelances by night. Burning the midnight oil, Scott has created hundreds of humorous greeting cards and written several children's books, short fiction for "Boys' Life" magazine, comic strips, and lots of really funny knock-knock jokes. He was raised in southern California, but in 1995 Scott moved to Indiana, where he currently lives with his wife, two sons, six cats, and several sea monkeys. Steve Harpster has loved to draw funny cartoons, mean monsters, and goofy gadgets since he was able to pick up a pencil. In first grade, he avoided writing assignments by working on the pictures for stories instead. Steve was able to land a job drawing funny pictures for books, and that's really what he's best at. Steve lives in Columbus, Ohio, with his wonderful wife, Karen, and their sheepdog, Doodle.
