Frontiera, Deborah K.: - Deborah K. Frontiera grew up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula but moved to Houston, TX in 1985 after stints in Colorado and Kansas. She had a twenty-three year teaching career in Houston Independent School District before retiring in 2008 to focus on her writing. From 2008 to 2015, she was part of Writers In The Schools in Houston, teaching creative writing part-time in inner city elementary classrooms. Now a migratory creature, she and her husband spend May through October near where Deborah grew up, and where her grown daughters and grandchildren often come for their vacations.
