Supermums by Meg Grace
Jessica James is a hard-working single mum about to turn 41 who, while dealing with bake sales and ballet competitions for her twelve-year-old daughter, discovers a strange portal in her back yard.
The energy from the portal starts giving Jess and her friends some exciting side effects, such as super-pep to get things done, a convenient garbage disposal and improving their yoga skills out of sight. Portal baking becomes a regular activity for the friends (while drinking Margaritas), but soon their bodies start to morph with animal like super skills, sending tidal waves of chaos through their lives.
With a professional career, a blossoming teen, and a persistent husband who wants her back, Jess is barely coping. Add an otherworldly beau who is not all he seems, an evil developer who has his sights set on the portal, a blackmailing boss and gigantic wings that have sprouted overnight - well - being late for work is a certainty.
A laugh out loud celebration of friendship and motherhood with a love triangle on the side for good measure.
