Surfing Indonesia by Leonard Lueras
Indonesia is one of the world's best surf spots, with endless warm waters, palm fringed beaches and cheap food and accommodation. This is a guide to help surfers make the most of their trip.
The Bali-based father-and-son team of Leonard and Lorca Lueras was the driving force behind Surfing Indonesia. Leonard Lueras is a writer/photographer/publisher who has produced some 30-plus books about the Asia-Pacific region. He is most well known in surfing as the author-producer of Surfing, The Ultimate Pleasure, an award-winning and best-selling book about the history of surfing. He is also the editor of Periplus' Surfing Hawaii, in the same series. Lorca Lueras, now 20, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and began surfing on the island of Bali at age 9. Photography/Text: Numerous writers and photographers have contributed to Surfing Indonesia, including Bernie Baker, Bill Boyum, Jason Childs, Jeff Divine, Dick Hoole, Gerry Lopez, Jack McCoy, Rusty Miller, Tom Servais, Tim Stripling, Arya Subyakto and Peter Troy.
