Sweet Talk by Alison Brodie
Lara lives a social whirl in London shopping, dressing, glamorous parties and more shopping all paid for by her loving father. When Daddy s funds suddenly dry up, including the generous allowance, Lara is left high and dry with rent to pay and only one bottle of champagne in the fridge Then a phone call changes everything. Her grandmother wants to send Cousin Beatrix to stay so that Lara can teach her how to be sophisticated and flirtatious: quiet, rural, country-dance-loving, heavy-eyebrowed Beatrix. It s going to be quite a challenge, but Grandmother is willing to pay Meanwhile, Jack is widowed farmer in Dorset with two young sons, a talent for art and a desire for someone to share it all with. Jack s friends decide to take the problem of his single status into hand, and soon Lara, Beatrix and Jack find their lives colliding in the most unexpected way
