Die Autoren Konrad Ehlich ist Honorarprofessor am Institut fur Deutsche und Niederlandische Philologie der Freien Universitat Berlin. Als Linguist ist er Mitbegrunder der Funktionalen Pragmatik, in der die Kategorie des Zwecks sprachlichen Handelns zentral dargestellt ist. Miriam Locher ist Ordinaria fur Linguistik des Englischen an der Philosophisch-Historischen Fakultat der Universitat Basel.
