Symmetry in Chaos by Michael J Field
Illustrates the varied pictures that may be produced when the seemingly contradictory ideas of symmetry and chaos are combined. Unlike the more modernistic fractal art, the symmetric chaos pictures have a classical, familiar feel. Examples of symmetric chaos in the real world are presented. For 42 years, Michael Field has worked as a newspaper and agency correspondent, primarily covering the South Pacific. He is now a reporter for Fairfax Media and a Pacific affairs commentator on Radio New Zealand's Nine to Noon program. He was previously a correspondent for Agence France-Presse. Black Saturday: Killings in Samoa, Speight of Violence: Inside Fiji's 2000 Coup, and Swimming with Sharks: Stories from the South Pacific Frontline are some of his works.
