Jacob Gowans is an Arizona-based dentist with the Indian Health Services. He is married to a lovely woman and the father of four adorable children. He despises all animals. He enjoys watching sports, reading, running, acting, listening to a wide range of music, kissing his wife, internet shopping, and chasing his children around the home when he is not working or writing. He is a huge fan of both old and new board games.

His debut novel was Psion Beta, which he followed up with Psion Gamma, Psion Delta, and Escape from Blithmore. He is now working on both the Psion and the Storyteller series of books. Unknown, a second series set in the Psion universe, is also in the works. Angels and Airwaves and The Killers are two of his favorite bands.

Alexandre Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo is his favorite book, and he considers Dead Poets Society to be the best picture ever created. He enjoys reading comic books, particularly those by Spider-Man, Batman, The Far Side, and Calvin and Hobbes. He grew up in Papillion, Nebraska, served a two-year mission in Baltimore, earned a Bachelor of Arts in theater studies from Brigham Young University in 2007, and moved to Cleveland shortly after. He graduated from Case Western Reserve University's dental school in 2011.

He is a huge supporter of BYU athletics, the New York Yankees, and Jimmer. He fantasizes about visiting another nation, witnessing the Yankees play in every baseball stadium in the United States, and becoming more active in filmmaking. He'd like to try his hand at writing comic books and screenplays. He believes that his family is his most important obligation, and that there is no better way to live than to love everyone.
