Pendziwol is a well-known children's author who grew up on the beaches of Lake Superior and spent a lot of time on her family's yacht. After working as a freelance writer and photographer, she focused on raising her children for several years before publishing her first children's book. She has three temperamental chickens and lives in Ontario with her family and a lovable puppy. Her adult debut is The Lightkeeper's Daughters.
