Tales from the Scottish Countryside by Angus Whitson
Angus Whitson shares his countryside diary, his thoughts and reminiscences with us and shows us how nature can be beautiful and unsentimental, cuddly and cruel. Accompanied by his faithful friends, Macbeth, a white West Highland terrier, and his black labrador Inka, Angus sets out each morning to see what the day will bring and records the changing seasons and moods of the countryside with the knowledge and passion of someone who loves and understands rural ways.
Angus Whitson grew up on the east coast of Scotland and has lived most of his life in the country, never far from the sea. He started writing professionally at the age of fifty-eight as a freelance copywriter and business writer. He has ghostwritten two books and, in 2003, was asked by the Dundee Courier to write a weekly countryside diary entitled 'Man with Two Dogs'. Dogs, the outdoors and nature have been important focuses in his life and have an increasing influence on his writing. He lives in a Scottish glen with his wife, the Doyenne of the weekly articles, and Inka and Macbeth their two dogs.
