An Ayrshireman, Dane Love lives in the countryside near Cumnock. He works as a schoolteacher at Irvine Royal Academy, but enjoys travelling with his wife around Scotland doing research. He is interested in all aspects of Scottish history, and has written histories of the Ayrshire towns and villages of Ayr, Cumnock and Auchinleck. With an interest in genealogy, he has traced his ancestry back to one Robin Love, his six-times great grandfather, who fought with Bonnie Prince Charlie at the battles of Prestopans and Culloden. His books include Scottish Kirkyards, Scottish Ghosts and The Auld Inns of Scotland all published by Robert Hale.
