Since 1970, David Frawley has been a student of Ramana Maharashi's teachings and has contributed to their publication The Mountain Way. He is a visiting lecturer at the Sringeri Shankaracharya Math, India's oldest vedantic center, and has received the Shankaracharya's personal blessings. He lectures at Vedantic centers in the United States and is one of the few Westerners acknowledged by the Vishva Hindu Parisha, the world's largest Hindu religious organization, as an authentic Vedantic teacher. In Santa Fe, New Mexico, Frawley is the director of the American Institute of Vedic Studies.
