Teaching Dad To Cook Flapjack by Miranda Gardiner
A practical cooking book for those cooking for themselves or a family. It is also a food novel offering a seductive glimpse into the author's culinary world.
Miranda Gardiner's life-long interests have been food and art. She studied at the Courtauld Institute of Art and is a former curator of contemporary art, working with artists such as Turner Prize winner Tacita Dean and Andy Goldsworthy. She spent her twenties working for the flamboyant Keith Floyd, with talented young chefs such as Jean Christophe Novelli, and also at Bar Contessa in Sydney. She retained detailed food diaries - influences which have slid into her more relaxed home cooking. She has written regularly for art publications and given TV broadcasts. She now lives in a beach house in South Devon with her three young children and husband.
