The American Academy in Rome awarded Eliza Griswold, a fellow of the New America Foundation, the Rome Prize in 2010. Her work has appeared in publications such as The Atlantic, The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, and Harper's Magazine. She was named the first Robert I. Nieman Fellow at Harvard University in 2007. For investigative reporting, the Friedman Prize is given. Wideawake Field, a collection of her poems, was published by FSG in 2007.
