That's Life, Lily by Valerie Dayre
August. People setting off on their yearly holiday. A time of excitement and promise and happy families . . . and Lily, on the back seat of the car, scribbling in her notebook and truly sick of her parents. But what if she were really free of them? What if they were to drive off without her? So begins Lily's unusual holiday. But is she living an adventure, caught in a tragedy or playing her own very peculiar game? Lily will keep you wondering, as she pulls you further and further into her funny and frightening book.
Valérie Dayre published her first book in 1989 and since then she has written over fifteen highly-acclaimed children's books, which have been translated into many languages. She has translated various works for young readers written in English, including one by Australian author John Marsden. She lives in Berry in central France.
