It follows a very traditional storyline, but it just has something magical about it which makes it such a brilliant readCharacters' struggles are strange, yet relatable in an odd sense which I must congratulate Sullivan for! Her writing truly captures every dark, fantastical twist and turn, leaving you enchanted and unable to wait for the next turn of a page. I think that ‘The Dolls’ is an exceptional read, almost bursting with twists and turns, shocks and sighs of relief, dark magic and discovery and despair and forbidden romance. A very intriguing, mysterious, dramatic novel! It was really great. I loved the suspense of the murder plot and I was very surprised to find out who the murderer was. I thought the ending was fantastic but I found it very surprising with what happened between to Caleb and Eveny. From the second you open this book you are drawn into the mysterious world of Carrefour, which is so well described you can almost feel the humidity of the Louisiana Bayou seeping through the pages... I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys magic and thrillers and personally I cannot wait for the rest of the books in the series! * Reading Zone *
I love this book so much. The characters are all incredibly different, but every one I can picture in my mind. My favourites are probably Drew and Chloe, because they are very unpredictable. The chapters are fast paced and lead on from one another with ease. I seemed to get more and more gripped as the plot developed. The twists and turns are epic; I like how you never know who the enemy is until the end. A little bit of romance, a little bit of magic, an action infused plot and what do you get?
