Then We Sailed Away by John Ridgway
The Ridgeway family embarked on an adventure to fulfil a dream. Leaving the School of Adventure they run in a remote corner of north-west Scotland, they launched their 57ft ketch and travelled across the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean, returning via Antarctica, in a bid to "get away from it all".
Jack London (1876-1916) is best known for his much-loved tales of the great outdoors, for which he drew on his experiences of the harshest environments as a seaman and as a prospector in Alaska during the Klondike Gold Rush.
