Thorstein Veblen (1857-1929) was an American economist and social commentator who lived from 1857 to 1929. He taught at Chicago and Missouri universities, Stanford University, and the New School for Social Research. The Theory of Business Enterprise, The Higher Learning in America, and The Theory of the Leisure Class, all published by Transaction, are among his many works.
