One World will publish her first nonfiction book in 2020. Parker graduated from Columbia University with a bachelor's degree in anthropology and creative writing and a master's degree in poetry. Her poetry and essays have appeared in a variety of media, including the Paris Review, The BreakBeat Poets: New American Poetry in the Age of Hip-Hop, Best American Poetry 2016, the New York Times, and the Nation, among others. Parker is a Cave Canem graduate fellow and the recipient of a 2017 National Endowment for the Arts Literary Fellowship. She also won a Pushcart Award in 2016.
