This Is Wicklow by Michael Delahunty
This compendium of photographs of Wicklow celebrates the towns, the flora and fauna, the mountains, romantic lakes, rivers and waterfalls which combine to make Wicklow the 'Garden of Ireland'. All aspects of living in and visiting Wicklow are encapsulated in over 200 photographs taken over a five-year period. This is Wicklow through and through, a unique and exciting place with many different sides to it. From Blessington in the northwest of the county to Arklow in the southeast, this photographic journey traverses the county, from the tranquillity of ancient monasteries to vibrant villages and towns. In addition, many of the activities available in the county are presented, including golf, canoeing, hillwalking, horse riding and fishing. Designed to satisfy visitors and locals alike, This is Wicklow clearly shows why the county is one of Ireland's premier visitor destinations, vibrantly capturing the spirit, colour and diversity of all that is best in Wicklow.'Beautiful'
* Irish Mountain Log *Michael Delahunty started photography at age fourteen with a Felicette camera bought for GBP3.26. At age fifteen he had two pictures accepted for the Irish Salon of Photography, when only five from Ireland were exhibited. Now semi-retired, he is realising his dream of being a photographer, with significant success, including the IPF gold medal for best picture in Ireland in 2007. Concentrating on landscape photography, he combines it with hill walking. This gave him the opportunity to amass a collection of photographs of Wicklow in all it seasons and all its moods. He lives in County Wicklow.
