This Place on Third Avenue by John Mcnulty
This is a collection of 28 stories and sketches by the journalist, John McNulty, who worked for the New Yorker from 1937 until his death in 1956. He was famous for his stories from Tim & Joe Costello's, an Irish saloon bar on Third Avenue and Forty-fourth Street. Its patrons live on in these writings, many of them collected here for the first time.
John McNulty grew up in Massachusetts, soldiered in Europe, marked time in Columbus, flourished in Manhattan, and died on his farm in Wakefield, Rhode Island.
