Kevin Crossley-Holland was born North Buckinghamshire and grew up in the Chilterns. He is best known for his poetry, novels, translation of Beowulf and reinterpretations of medieval legends. He has won many prestigious awards including the Carnegie Medal, the Guardian Children's Fiction Award, and the Tir na n-Og Award, and has had his Arthur trilogy translated into twenty-five languages, selling over a million copies worldwide. He now lives on the Norfolk coast in East Anglia.
