Intisar Khanani grew up as a globe wanderer and nomad. She was born in Wisconsin and has lived in five states as well as Jeddah on the Red Sea coast. She recalls witnessing snow on a wintry street in Zurich, Switzerland, and having breakfast with orangutans at the Singapore Zoo when she was five years old.
