Twelfth Night, or What You Will is a romantic comedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written around 1601-1602 as a Twelfth Night's entertainment for the close of the Christmas season. The play centres on the twins Viola and Sebastian, who are separated in a shipwreck. Twelfth Night is a fast-paced romantic comedy with several interwoven plots of romance, mistaken identities and practical jokes. Quentin Blake taught at the Royal College of Art, where he was Head of the Illustration Department before becoming a full time illustrator. He has collaborated with writers such as Russell Hoban, John Yeoman, and most famously Roald Dahl. He has also illustrated classic books for adults and created much-loved characters of his own such as Mr Magnolia and Mrs Armitage. He also curates exhibitions and is a Patron of the Campaign for Drawing.
