The Three Questions by Jonj Muth

Based on a story by Leo Tolstoy. When young Nikolai seeks counsel from Leo, the wise old turtle who lives in the mountains, he is sure Leo will know the answers to his three questions. When is the best time to do things? Who is the most important one? What is the right thing to do? But it is Nikolai's own response to a stranger's cry for help that leads him directly to the answers he is looking for. Jon J Muth combined his studies of Zen with his love of Tolstoy to create this profound yet simple book about compassion and living in the moment.

JON J MUTH has written and illustrated a number of critically praised image books, including Zen Shorts, which received a Caldecott Honor and was described by Kirkus as as flawless a picture as can be, and The Three Questions, which was described by the New York Times Book Review as quietly life-changing. Zen Ties, his most recent book, was released this spring and quickly became a New York Times bestseller. With his wife and four children, he resides in New York State. JOHN KURAMOTO has contributed text to a number of comic books and graphic novels, including The Crow. He resides in the state of New York.
