Gary Hart was Colorado's representative in the United States Congress. From 1975 through 1987, he served in the United States Senate. He is the author of seventeen books and possesses an Oxford University degree in philosophy in politics. He is currently a professor at the University of Colorado, a distinguished fellow at the New America Foundation, and chairman of the American Security Project and the Council for a Livable World. He has been a longtime Democratic reformer. He lives in Kittredge, Colorado, with his family.
