After strong winds disrupt the labyrinth, Tia and Dwight have to put their heads together to help their friends! As Tia is cleaning up from the windstorm, Dwight tells her that the wind blew away all the nuts the squirrels were saving for winter. Tia immediately feels sad, mad, and worried. What are the squirrels going to do? she wonders. She lets herself experience all her emotions for a moment. After taking some deep breaths, she's determined to turn her feelings into action! She and Dwight make a plan, gather volunteers, and set out to help the squirrels find their lost nuts.

In Tia Takes Charge, Tia starts to use the mindfulness techniques she's learned from Tree and Dwight in the early books of this series. She now knows how to take deep breaths and calm herself down so that she can be her most thoughtful and confident self. Alongside Tia and the rest of the labyrinth in Tia Takes Charge, and with thought-provoking discussion questions, children will learn how to put their strong feelings to use and take action to help their friends!
